However, often times, order minimums required for wide web slitting can far\u00a0exceed the customer’s requirements, and that’s one situation\u00a0lathe slitting is a great option.<\/dd>\n
2. Narrow widths<\/dt>\n
Although\u00a0a\u00a0rotary die tool slitting can also be used for widths below 12mm, it\u00a0requires an upfront investment in an expensive rotary die tool. On the other hand,\u00a0the lathe slitter produces perfect rolls with no tooling required! This means\u00a0high quality finished goods with small minimums.<\/dd>\n
3. Multiple widths within a web<\/dt>\n

Each of our lathe slitters is programmed via a computer and\u00a0set up is as quick as typing some data.\u00a0We can also maintain the perfect cut over time by storing\u00a0the precise “recipe” for your specs in our computer.\u00a0This means the PC will remember your settings making future slitting\u00a0more efficient and consistent generating the\u00a0same quality every time.<\/dd>\n
5. Multiple core options<\/dt>\n
ProTapes state-of-the-art fully automated lathe slitters have multiple core options we currently have 1\u201d, 1.5\u201d and 3\u201d inside diameter (ID) mandrels giving the customer multiple options. The change over from one size core ID to another is minutes eliminating long set up times that are associated with the same type change over on a rewind slitter.<\/dd>\n
