Learn more about her work and how she uses Pro Tapes\u00ae below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Do you have\na website or any social media sites you\u2019d like to share with our audience?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I just share my art on my personal Instagram account at the moment: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/syb_something\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"@Syb_Something (opens in a new tab)\">@Syb_Something<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How long\nhave you been practicing art? What have you experimented with before\ndiscovering tape?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Both of my\nparents are very creative and artistic, so I\u2019ve been around art my whole life.\nI took an art class in high school that made me realize I was quite good at\ndrawing, but I don\u2019t often have the patience to finish sketches properly and\ncompletely. I also love painting with acrylics.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a class=\"imagegallery\" href=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Portrait-of-a-girl-by-Sybil-Taunton-combining-tape-and-paint.jpg\" rel=\"imagegallery3939\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Portrait-of-a-girl-by-Sybil-Taunton-combining-tape-and-paint-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"Portrait of a girl by Sybil Taunton combining tape and paint\" class=\"wp-image-3944\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How did you discover <\/strong> Pro Tapes<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> <strong> tape products?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>My wife signed me up for a \u201cPainting with Tape\u201d class for my birthday last year, and the instructor used Pro Tapes<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>. I absolutely loved the class, and the idea of creating art with tape, so I looked up Pro Tapes\u00ae and ordered every color I could find. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>That\u2019s awesome! Do you remember who taught the\nclass \/ where it was taught?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The class was taught by Michael Budd, who you\u2019ve already done a feature on! (It&#8217;s true: read Michael&#8217;s feature <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"here (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/blog\/how-artist-michael-budd-uses-pro-46-in-his-paintings-and-workshops\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I took his class he had mostly been focused on portraits of famous musicians. I\u2019m really impressed and inspired by his transition to landscapes using a much more detailed and layered process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s what makes tape art so much fun, it can be used in so many different ways and continuously evolve us as artists.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a class=\"imagegallery\" href=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/An-airplane-and-hikers-tape-painting.jpg\" rel=\"imagegallery3939\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/An-airplane-and-hikers-tape-painting-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"An airplane and hikers tape painting\" class=\"wp-image-3946\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Can you tell\nour audience a little bit about what inspires your artwork and process?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Most often,\npeople do. I get ideas from friends or family and just run with them. Other\ntimes I will simply see a photo on social media or Pinterest that jumps out at\nme, and I love challenging myself to recreate them in my own way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a class=\"imagegallery\" href=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Girl-portrait-in-progress-with-tape-and-paint.jpg\" rel=\"imagegallery3939\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Girl-portrait-in-progress-with-tape-and-paint-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"Portrait of a girl in progress with tape and paint\" class=\"wp-image-3948\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Which of our <\/strong> Pro Tapes<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> <strong> products do you use these days, and what other materials or tools do you use alongside tape to create your art? How do they work together?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I like to\ncombine my acrylic painting and tape work because I love the balance of mess\nand precision. My painting style is very abstract, which makes for great\nbackgrounds but somewhat boring stand-alone pieces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I mostly use paper tapes (like our <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae 46 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/pro-46\" target=\"_blank\">Pro<\/a><sup><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae 46 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/pro-46\" target=\"_blank\">\u00ae<\/a><\/sup><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae 46 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/pro-46\" target=\"_blank\"> 46<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae Artist (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/artist-tape\" target=\"_blank\">Pro<\/a><sup><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae Artist (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/artist-tape\" target=\"_blank\">\u00ae<\/a><\/sup><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae Artist (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/artist-tape\" target=\"_blank\"> Artist<\/a>) and cloth tapes (like <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro Gaff\u00ae (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/pro-gaff-tape\" target=\"_blank\">Pro Gaff<\/a><sup><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro Gaff\u00ae (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/pro-gaff-tape\" target=\"_blank\">\u00ae<\/a><\/sup>), but I have also worked foil tapes (like <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae Sheen (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/pro-sheen\" target=\"_blank\">Pro<\/a><sup><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae Sheen (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/pro-sheen\" target=\"_blank\">\u00ae<\/a><\/sup><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Pro\u00ae Sheen (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"\/products\/pro-sheen\" target=\"_blank\"> Sheen<\/a>) into some of my pieces as well. The tape allows me to create very detailed and elaborate designs or portraits over the top of the paint that make the overall pieces more complex and beautiful.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are your favorite qualities of our <\/strong> Pro Tapes<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> <strong> products? What do our tapes allow you to do that other materials\/tools do not?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I really appreciate the different textures and color options available through  Pro Tapes<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> . The paper tapes allow for easier detail work, and the cloth tapes are great for more bold and structured pieces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best\nthing about creating art with tape is that making mistakes isn\u2019t as\nfrustrating. If you don\u2019t like what you\u2019ve created, you can just peel it off\nand try again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a class=\"imagegallery\" href=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Deep-sea-divers-and-Native-American-in-painted-tape-art-by-Sybil-Taunton.jpg\" rel=\"imagegallery3939\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Deep-sea-divers-and-Native-American-in-painted-tape-art-by-Sybil-Taunton-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"Deep sea divers and Native American in painted tape art by Sybil Taunton\" class=\"wp-image-3950\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>If someone\nhas never used tape to create art, what advice would you have for them?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t get\ntunnel vision and think linear just because you are using tape, especially with\npaper tape.
