Look up ideas for your mural (Pinterest is a great resource.) Consider sketching out your idea on a piece of paper, or very lightly on the walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think about how the colors of the mural relate back to your room: Do you want a more muted look? Or something bold and vibrant? Whichever colors you pick, be sure to stock up on paint so you don\u2019t run out mid-project!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have your idea and your supplies ready, grab our <a href=\"\/products\/pro-scenic-714-blue-mask\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pro\u00ae Scenic<\/a> blue mask tape and start masking off the sections that will be painted in your mural. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a class=\"imagegallery\" href=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Start-by-taping-out-your-desired-paint-sections-for-the-mural.jpg\" rel=\"imagegallery5626\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.protapes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Start-by-taping-out-your-desired-paint-sections-for-the-mural-1024x512.jpg\" alt=\"Start by taping out your desired paint sections for the mural\" class=\"wp-image-5634\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Can&#8217;t finish your painting project all at once? <a href=\"\/products\/pro-scenic-714-blue-mask\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pro\u00ae Scenic<\/a> can stay on for up to 14 days and still remove residue-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be sure to also protect any surfaces nearby that you don\u2019t want paint on. Move any furniture or wall hangings out of the way. You can use newspaper, brown paper, drop cloths, or other materials to create a barrier. You can hold these barriers in place on your wall with tape, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Paint your Mural<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you get to painting, apply a primer to your wall first. Once the primer is dry, you\u2019re ready to paint. Take your time &#8211; peel the tape off slowly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With all the tape removed, you can now spot any gaps you might have missed. While Pro Gaff\u00ae removes cleanly from most surfaces, poorly painted walls may experience chipping when pulling your mural off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you go taping up every wall in your house, ALWAYS try out <a href=\"\/pro-gaff-tape\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pro Gaff\u00ae<\/a> on an inconspicuous wall area (like behind a sofa or a tv.) Apply a small section of tape, rub it into the wall, and allow to sit. Or, just grab your tape and get to experimenting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Start Taping that Mural!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have your idea ready, getting started on your mural is as easy as peel \u2013 rip or cut \u2013 and stick! Although Pro Gaff\u00ae can be torn by hand to any size, you can also use scissors for a more precise look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Made a mistake? Peel the tape off slowly and reapply it to a better spot.
