Hey folks! I\u2019m a long time tape user, but a newbie to shadow box framing. However, thanks to Pro Tapes\u00ae the process was super easy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The four Pro Tapes\u00ae products I used to create this shadow box frame were:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n\n- Pro\u00ae Flocking<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Pro\u00ae 410 ATG<\/a> (along with our Pro\u00ae ATG HD Dispenser<\/a> gun)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- UGlu\u00ae<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Pro Gaff\u00ae<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

I wanted to have a darker background. This is where our first product comes in!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pro\u00ae Flocking<\/a> tape has an amazing permanent acrylic adhesive that allows the product to stick to low surface energy materials. In this case, it adhered to the canvas backing like it was always made to be there.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe liner that is included with Pro\u00ae Flocking tape made it easy to apply it to the canvas background gradually. It gives you time to apply it carefully and rub out any creases that might come up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the velvet of Pro\u00ae Flocking<\/a> gets dirty, dusty, or covered in pet hair (pet owners will understand), I have a simple PRO tip: Use a lint roller! For that, I used Pro\u00ae 410 ATG tape<\/a>, which I applied using our ATG dispenser<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nI used Pro\u00ae 410 to adhere the pictures for multiple reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n- It is a thin tape, so you won\u2019t get any lines or bumps coming through the front of the photo<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- The acrylic adhesive on the Pro\u00ae 410 is strong enough to bond to a variety of materials, such as the flocking fibers on the new background I made<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
I applied Pro\u00ae 410<\/a> to the back of the printed pictures along all 4 sides. This double sided tape comes in a variety of convenient shapes and sizes. Thanks to the paper backing on each piece of UGlu\u00ae, you can also use scissors to cut it down to even smaller pieces as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\nI used UGlu\u00ae to attach thicker cardstock invitations, as well as a homemade magic wand and homemade mini lightsaber. The wand and lightsaber are as thin as chopsticks in some areas, so being able to cut the UGlu\u00ae strips down to smaller pieces was really convenient here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even with some of the unevenness of the items, UGlu\u00ae<\/a> adhered really well to them. That is the magic of UGlu\u00ae: your objects do not have to be perfectly flat! Pro Gaff\u00ae<\/a> comes in many different colors, which gives you tons of creative freedom. You can mix and match as you like to fit your color palette or to match the d\u00e9cor around your frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\nFinal Result<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nConsidering this was my first time ever custom framing with a shadow box, I had tons of fun doing it!
